“Customer Loyalty” is a subjective area: the definition of loyalty and its behavioural manifestation are different from customer to customer. However, everyone likes to be thanked (and rewarded) for their custom, so loyalty and customer relationship marketing can help to deliver long term benefits such as repeat transactions and recommendations.  The popularity of social networking sites and messaging forums means that brand strategy is inseparable from loyalty and relationship marketing approaches.
